This beautiful Fall Day was a lucky one for me. There wasn’t a moment of hesitation when my brother-in-law texted me this picture and asked,”Do you want this?” ….. Ummm, yeah I do!! Apparently the young couple who had it out on the curb were so happy to see it go they even helped him get it into his truck!    AHHH youth!

This piece was beautiful, with great bones and so well made. There were some  scratches, and the hardware needed to be fixed, but just such a beauty. After starting to clean her up, we found a Maker’s Mark! Henredon, no less! What a classic!

This piece called for a smooth finish. I knew immediately it would be painted  Seagull gray by General Finishes, my go to when I want a silky smooth finish without distressing. After cleaning and filling the scratches, this piece was primed, painted and sealed with General Finishes High Performance topcoat. The hardware was repaired and updated in gold for a super chic, contemporary look!

This piece was hand painted, but is so silky smooth, it looks as if it were sprayed! Love the self leveling properties of this paint! Also, sand with high grit sanding pad between each coat to remove any brush strokes.
